William Grant & Sons
I worked as the lead designer within the global brand of company, alongside the comms team, to elevate and create design that resonated with stakeholders both internally and externally. Working across print, digital and video I developed the re-brand from its infancy to create a visual language that disrupted and could lay claim to be ‘seriously spirited’. Having already worked for an agency on the outside of the company this was a great opportunity to work from the inside out, developing my brand understanding for a global company and its DNA.
Recruitment video created using existing footage, photography and combining these assets with motion graphics to demonstrate the variety, excitement and amazing culture found within the company.
Refining the global and internal brand
I began working with the company when the re-brand was in its infancy. During my time with William Grant & Sons I developed and progressed the brand both externally and internally, from a design perspective, so that it fully embraced the ‘seriously spirited’ mantra the company represents. This included creating a secondary colour palette and developing a brand language that touched on on the diverse visual texture and disruption found within the business.
Spirit
Each year and internal magazine was produced to celebrate the successes within the business, leveraging key stakeholders and stories from around the world. I was part of the team designing the magazine and led on the art direction and final visual aesthetic. This incorporated the updated visual brand mentioned above and was used as a milestone reference for design work going forwards. I was lucky to lead on the design for 2019 and 2020.
Internal communications across the global business
Communicating both with the written word and design never stops. With projects ranged from the fast daily tasks to the time consuming, it is important not to dilute the messaging but enhance what is to be understood. Below is a visual and two videos created to help better understand how the company wants to operate. I created both the static visual and videos published to the company, creating and managing all aspects of the process.

I was part of the team to launch the new company website, categorising each facet of the business under three headings. ‘We’ heroes the people within the business, ‘Create’ highlights the liquid and ‘Legacies’ is a bank of stories from around the company that celebrate every success.
